Kyiv, Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. The consequences have been
terrible for the Ukrainian people. Many have died. All have suffered. The people are in need
of financial donations, as well as physical items such as clothing, sanitary products, and
sleeping bags, just to name a few examples.
On October 24, in the year of 1945, the United Nations was founded. In 1945, nations were in ruins. The Third Reich had fallen; the Second World War was over, and the world wanted peace – hence the United Nations. At that time, the word peace was the opposite word of war.

Today, the word peace has a different definition. It includes everything from poverty to climate change. The list of global issues is infinite. To state that we, today, live in peace, would be an incorrect statement.
We, the people, have a moral obligation to help others in need. That’s what we call humanity. It’s easy to close your eyes or to look the other way. It may be challenging to prioritize others prior to yourself, but deep inside, we know that’s the correct thing to do –it’s merely our moral obligation.
